Decent gpu upgrade to gaming pc?

I am going to be running two separate gaming desktops in my mancave, the better one being built in about a month. However, I am wanting to do a gpu upgrade to the existing one to something more current.
Current specs on it are:
Foxcon Bloodrage mobo
LGA 1366 socket (old-school i7) with a slight overclock.
8 GB DDR3 (I think) 1600 RAM
2x HD4890s running in crossfire configuration
Not really looking to upgrade anything other than GPU on it so what do ya'll recommend? Don't really want to break the bank on this since I'm building my main gaming pc in a month. Also, this mobo has pci express 2.0 x16 but from what I've read all 3.0 GPUs are backwards-compatible with 2.0.
Thanks
Also I have 1200 watt PSU so power won't be an issue.

How much are you willing to spend

760 or a 7950
This.
You might even be able to find a 7970 for $250 with a MIR.

Am I going to see a significant enough increase in performance between 2x 4890s and a single 7950/7970 to justify the price?
Also, I just looked at apparently my CPU is no longer overclocked and running at base 2.67. Is this going to be a bottleneck?
This will mostly be used for BF4 on a 23" monitor. Not looking for ultra extreme max settings on everything but would like to run at least high on most with good FPS.

In bf4 your processor will struggle, but 7970 will be a huge boost over your 4890s

Could I get one of those or do I need to keep the brand the same?

As long as it's a 7950 or 7970 it doesnt matter

When are the 7870s supposed to have a price drop?

Is there a planned price drop for them?
These cards are out of production. When a new generation of cards drops, you always want to check eBay and hardware swap etc. for previous generation deals. Lots of people want to unload their old shite for the latest and greatest. One of those links I provided above was from a seller who is offering many 7970s for sale-- pulled from their LAN center PCs because they upgraded to 290x cards.

one more 7950 will be more than enough and MUCH cheaper...

I was just wondering. My 7870 i have now seems like it struggles on BF4. I'm wanting to crossfire.
Eta: on ultra, btw
