this will probably be known as Dead Island 1.5, but the gameplay was so fun on the last one i'm going to give it a shot anyhow.

I was a bit worried when I first saw the score but after reading the review I'm still excited to pick it up.
It seems like it is going to be just like the first game, which I loved. All of the complaints look like they stem from there not being any major upgrades to the game.

Yeh, i think so. several if i remember correctly.
they just made the mistake of waiting 3 months to release any of the DLC. Most, like I, had already moved on at that point.
Pevy and I played thru the 1st DLC or so. I remember it being sort of a Wave based thing where you tried to hold off zombies as long as possible.

weapons KK wants to see: cowprod, crossbow, lawnmower blade, some type of spear, moar brass knuckle combos.
i also feel the need to toss hatchets across the map with great accuracy and kill zombies.

meh. sounds exactly like COD zombies. I'd have rather seen a new level/map somewhere in the middle

stun gun IN THE FACE!!!!
also, throwing stars would be fun. in terms of your spear, i'm thinking some type of harpoon. stick a zombie in the chest, drag him over, decapitate. or just sink it thru his head

I enjoyed the original, but I may wait for the price to go down a bit. I'm sure by the time I show interest, everyone will have moved on.

I'm actually probably going to wait as well. No sense in paying $60 and then my gaming time doesn't line up with anyone else and I'm running solo. May redbox it if it's there. I can't imagine a brand new game being scratched.

Saw it online at Best Buy for 49.99, so it's a little cheaper. I'm going to pick it up in a couple of weeks. I've got some work and school stuff I need to finish before I can put any significant time into gaming.
