Yeah...finally getting thru sens and being dropped off by the gargoyles

And of course, after beating a certain boss and seeing 'Large Chest Ahead' was also awesome

I was hoping the Super Bowl would have been a blowout so I could be playing.

I want to go back through the Burg and clear out Havel, the black knights, and the Hellkite.

I'm probably nowhere near ready for any of that

Havel is worth your time. Drops an amazing ring.

There is a beastly sword at the end of the bridge the hellkite is on. Claymore. You don't need to kill him to get it. It actually scales better late game than the sword the dragon drops.

Make you are using weapons that scale correctly for your build. They will be assigned a letter grade.. S A B etc.

Uchigatana scales at B in dex. I think I can use it the entire game.

Yeah..you can.

That's the beauty of dark souls..endgame weapons can come from the first few zones.

Trust me on this. Start a new game. Pick warrior. The starting longsword and shield you get at the beginning are the perfect learning tools. You'll learn how to keep your shield up, and when to lower between enemy attacks. Most importantly you will learn to manage your stamina through some gentle soul farming in the Undead Burg.

I recommend the longsword for beginners, because it is a "quality weapon", meaning it scales with both strength as dexterity. This should allow you some time to explore the game before deciding on your play style. And your play style will be dex build - which the longsword is excellent for. So drop those gloves, and learn to fast roll. Once you have that rhythm down, Undead Parish will seem much much easier.

Also don't worry about learning to parry right now. Draw out those Balder knights one by one. Block their first attack, then frick their arse with the R2.

Sword is great and all, but I much prefer rolling around on the ground and spamming sorcery.

I don't like to post personal things on here, but this is something you're all probably familiar with...after overcoming the Taurus Demon, Bell Gargoyles, and other lesser foes, and pushing into the Darkroot Forest, I awoke this morning to find my balls have grown three sizes.

Ah, the BKH. That thing carried me during my first play through. BKH, GCS, Havel's Ring, RFAP, elite knight set.

Are you using a keyboard/mouse or controller?

I just can't see myself using anything other than a controller. May need to get one for DS3

Oddly that makes me feel better

Nice to know I'll have some company on the PC when 3 drops. I don't usually buy games at release but the last one I did was dark souls 2

Just snagged FO:NV for $2.50 and I'm sure sic would be happy to know I'm currently making my thru the capital wasteland
