Nintendo isn't out to be number 1. They are out to make money, and they make money in spades.
I don't know what the numbers are now, but 2 yrs ago Nintendo was worth 1 billion more than Sony as whole.
They have like 10 billion in cash in the bank.

Xbox should have used that 29billion for LinkedIn to buy Nintendo instead. Would sell a lot more boxes with Nintendo IP on the system.

If I want good graphics, I'll play something on PC. As long as Nintendo continues to put its best foot forward into the Zelda series, I'll be buying Nintendo consoles.

Good. This is why I love Nintendo. The have hands down the best platformers and I will always buy a Nintendo console just to play the new Kart, Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, DK, etc...

I think most of us who are fans of nintendo games would love it if we could have a console that would play mario and zelda and ALSO every third party game, and not scaled down ones. I know all of you are rolling in cash, but for some, it's not really an option to purchase a second console to just play this range of games.
Nintendo needs to get over itself and make a good machine.

I think it's more important that they don't lose their identity in the process. That's why I don't care how they operate honestly, they just have to do it successfully.
Again, people wanting Nintendo bought out by the likes of Microsoft or Sony, or just packing it in to go third party, don't get it, sorry.

The N64 was more powerful than the PS1. Looking at Final Fantasy VII, the graphics have aged attrociously, while it would have looked much nicer on the 64 and aged better. The only major frick up of the N64 is they kept cartridges and not switched to CDs.

The PS had far better third party support, and I hate to break it to you but outside of Mario and Zelda pretty much everything on the N64 has aged horribly

Yup, this is me. I don't play many games, but I would like a Nintendo system that would play something like Red Dead Redemption, for instance. I play more Nintendo titles than anything else.

The draw of Zelda and Mario isn't enough for me to go out and buy a Nintendo system. Especially when I would have to buy an Xbox or PS to play any 3rd party games or traditional games. The NX needs to be less of a gimmick
