I loved my first time through Dark Souls, no game will ever capture me the way that game did. I can still remember losing thousands and thousands of souls in an area that you couldn't even get back to, because you were literally suppose to die in that part in order to get back later... freakin' Dark souls

I will end up buying a ps4 just for bloodborne, so I'm definitely down with the cause - but honestly I haven't bought a souls game yet that wasn't at least a year old, I actually like having a semi-road map to follow on these games. I don't like... look-up how to beat things, but at least for like weapon creation and such, I do like having "something" there to help me out a bit, or I end up spending all of my souls on bullshite and end up weak as hell by mid-game, because I'm an idiot when it comes to leveling up in souls games.

I mean you are playing a game called "Demons Souls" with its predecessors being "Dark Souls"
And you want it to be less gloomy.
Besides, I'm only 2 hours in. I haven't decided what I think of it overall yet and I'm sure the game will show me even more shades of brown before I'm done.

yeah after spending 400+ hours on Dark Souls and 300+ hours on Dark Souls 2 I should go back and play Demon Souls, but I just don't know if I could do it. From everything I've read what made demon souls so "good" was the messed up hit boxes and unfair environments... just seems like a step back from the games I love so much.

well it has gotten way better with each released game, I'm guessing Bloodborne is going to be the best in the series to date. These games have always gotten a huge amount of praise / hate for being so unforgiving... the bad hit boxes and horrible U/I Environments just make it that much more unforgiving. On top of that FROM is such a small / personal type company they have a lot of fans for being the underdog company.
I'm one of the few people that would says I liked DS2 more than DS1, but all around it was a more rounded game, and the hit boxes in 2 are a lot better than 1... making the game easier.

No I put about 5 hours into demon's souls and realized I made a shitty character so I got pissed off and quit. I have never really given one a real chance. Me disliking them is a devious joke. Demon's souls does have some aggravating issues though.

no I'm good. If I like it I will go back though. I'm sure there will be a demon's souls remaster
