SKRYIM

So I finally decided to push through to the end of Skyrim last night just to say I had done it. I defeat Alduin in a pretty epic battle, get a congrats, and get sent back to Skyrim................and that's it. I got to watch all of these dragons take off from the top of the mountain, which was kind of cool, but when I got to the Greybeards, they are just sitting around a table staring at each other and not saying a word. NOTHING!!! THEY WERE THE ONES THAT SENT ME ON THIS QUEST!!! All there was was to open my quest log and look at my endless misc. quests. I mean, really Bethesda? I mean, the game was epic enough to where you didn't need to go overboard, but you did absolutely nothing with it. No payoff at all. I just stared at the screen for a while.

What have been your worst? I've always got a kick out of the Metroid "Congrats on another successful bounty" end screens.

You're welcome.

Fallout managed it. At least an ending.

Most recently the ending to Dead Space 3 meets this criteria.

Are you kidding me? I love Bethesda but the games they create don't lend themselves to endings. Fallout 3 didn't even let you play past the final scene!

At least there was an ending. Even if it was just all images and dialogue. I know these types of games don't allow for your typical game ending, but there was no effort at all with Skyrim.

I believe part of the lack of ending in Skyrim had to do with the fact that 2 extensive DLCs were being planned.

There was no good "ending" for Oblivion or Morrowind either. It's all in the world, not the story.

That's what my friend was telling me. Well probably purchase soon and find out for myself. I did find a renewed interest in trying to clear out my quest log. Game is kind of fun again.

I love Skyrim and have almost 300 hours in it, but honestly 20 bucks is too high for the DLCs. The main quest lines aren't all that long and it's the side stuff that can keep you busy.

I didn't anticipate an amazing ending to Skyrim.

those games are built around the idea of exploration and making up your own character in a sense.

Dead Space 3 felt abrupt, but aside from cliffhangers, those endings have never been special anyway.

Only complaint I really had with that game. Let me go around scavenging and killing stuff as I like.

I didn't like Red Dead Redemption's, for the simple fact you had to keep playing as his son for more than enough time. Gears of war 2 was absolute shite.

Castlevania LOS takes the cake though, out of nowhere satan appears, out of absolutely nowhere, lol hes not around for the entire game, then you battle him at the end and somehow or another it speeds to current time and your basically dracula.... the end

I get what you guys are saying with this, but it honestly sounds like a cop-out. It is possible to do something when you finish the main story line, and THEN go do the rest of the quests. My point is they did nothing. Games with sidequests do it all the time. Finish the game, have your ending, and then allow you to finish everything else.

Anyways, I didn't want to wax poetic about Skyrim, necessarily

One series that a lot of times can do too much with their endings is MGS. As if there isn't enough political dialogue in the game to get you lost. Let's do it for another 30 minutes and leave you scratching your head some more. Or just not caring.

Why did I read that when I haven't finshed the game? Just killed all motivation to finish it...

Thought about you when I started this. Was hoping you would be smart enough to stay away.

But like I said, I'm still having fun with the other stuff.
