Considering Rocket League...

I still love it, but I get matched up with awful teammates a lot. It'd be nice to play with some people who at least have a decent grasp on soccer or team sports in general.

It's a blast, not sure how long it will last. I am sure there will be a bunch of copycats here in a little bit. Kinda like what happened with DayZ.

You already have your mind made up, you are just looking for reassurance that getting it is what everyone else says. You will love it once you get everything down. You will see guys going for crazy arse aerials in games, but stay grounded until you get better at reading the position of the ball. Use ball cam as much as you can. The only time I go to car view is when I am going for a boost on the opposite side of the field and I look behind me to make sure the ball is not coming my way.
The PC community is taking off alot more so than the PS4 community. Especially with Kronovi and his boys crossing over, it seems like Steam has picked up a bit of (excuse the pun) steam in terms of overall players.
This is a game that you WANT to do the tutorials and the practice modes on. It will make you better and if you skip it you are only hurting yourself.

This game isn't in my wheelhouse, I'm not a big MP or sports game person. It is selling well on Steam so people love it.

Yeah, it's cross platform with PS4 but only through matchmaking, can't invite or party up, for now.

You can play private matches with PC and PS4 players. Can't get randoms, but you can play games with each other if everyone knows the room and password. All the pros started switching to PC once they could play tournament games on PC this way.

I play it alone now FWIW. Of course I play multi but it's not the same. Playing with randoms can be frustrating.

Playing with randoms can be frustrating but when you have a 8-0 game with two players getting a hat trick is so awesome
