Can I put my old laptop HDD in my PS4?
Posted by Grim on 5/18/16 at 3:32 pm00
I just replaced my laptop's 1TB Toshiba HDD with an SSD and I was curious if I could replace the 500gb HDD in my PS4 with the 1TB one I just took out. TIA

It's possible, but I know that it's a certain size HDD that fits inside. It has to be a 2.5-inch SATA II drive that runs at a rate of 5400RPM at the least.

Yeah it's a 2.5 inch and I think 9mm thick
Should work. It's pretty easy. YouTube has videos.
Just need to download the PlayStation software on a USB drive and back up anything you may want to back up.
If you have PS plus all your save data stays on there. But you will have to DL all the updates for the games again.
