Sorry no one wants to spend $80 just to play a game that came out almost a decade ago

Just FYI, the edition of Infinite Warfare that includes CoD4 Remastered is about $64 when you preorder on Amazon if you are a Prime member.

It's worth it because my brother and I will play the crap out of CoD4.

Watched some MP footage of COD4, and even without the future mechanics you guys hate on principle, the series has come a long way in terms of gameplay. I'm curious if people are really going to have that good of a time playing a dated game.

Advanced Warfare had the best shooting in the series by far. People just couldn't get past the jumping.

You can never go wrong with boots on the ground.

Counterstrike was incredibly dated and people still loved and played the shite out of it.

I realize COD 4 isn't CS, but it seems to be popular opinion that COD 4 was the best ever made for the series. So it's certainly plausible people will still enjoy it.

I'll gladly pay money to have hundreds of hours of fun again on a remastered game.

I'd say Cod4 or MW2 has the best gameplay to date. The call of duty games that followed are almost all needlessly complicated or in blops 1's case just clunky.

We've had 3 versions of Counter Strike ever, and they've been really spaced out, not annualized like COD. And other than S&D, no other game offers what CS does. Maybe they've put out way too many COD games, but they've gotten some things right along the way and for the most part haves built on them. Other than the Source engine, CS 1.3 and CS:S are the same games.

People will play old games all day, sure, but CS and COD isn't a good comparison.

MW2 is the best IMO, followed by COD4

I'm still debating on what to do, I have prime so I could get it for the $64 but idk......thing is even if they sell it by itself by let's say December I doubt it's much less if any than $64

Honest question, did you give AW a try?

I get this to a point and I loved that throwback playlist that BLOPS had, but to build an entire game around simplicity just isn't going to work anymore. As pure as I feel halo is, at some point they had to go with some kind of weapon drop, something I feel didn't break the game despite the whining here about it.

Look, here's the thing I've heard about CoD4 in a lot of the videos in the past week--they've kept the speed of the game the same as it was in 2007. They have not touched the pacing. They have not touched the mechanics. The only changes have been cosmetic.

Long time fans of CoD spoiled on the new direction because CoD was about WWII and modern military. It wasn't a game with goofball wall running, roof hopping and stupid plasma rifles. So, fine...Battlefield filled the void. But here we are again...Battlefield is changing, I'm not interested, and CoD comes back to save the day with a remaster of their best game...ever.

Infinite Warfare may be a good game, but that doesn't mean I have to be interested in it.

My point was, that player bases will play "dated" games if the game is good.

COD 4 was one of the best FPS I've ever played. IMO, it's vastly better than the shite they've put out since.

I'm not claiming it to be on the level of the CS "franchise", but when debating playability of a dated game, I feel like COD 4 can work, due to its stark contrast to what COD puts out now.

i don't feel like this is true. i think you like to bitch about and argue with people not liking futuristic gameplay.

this guy is just asking a simple question. this isn't the first thread that you've turned into a "boots on the ground vs futuristic shooter" debate.

you're not. the majority of this board feels this way. a large population of the COD fanbase feels this way. There's no arguing that fact.

Mixed in with the typical "futuristic whah whah" that's been going around since they announced it, but ok.

why are you so sensitive to this subject? as i mentioned above, it's well documented that a large portion of the COD fanbase doesn't enjoy futuristic COD games. They all have a right to their opinion, just as you do.

Trust me, I'm mostly messing with you guys, and I get it. COD4 was the first and will always hold a special place with people, including me. 4 has the memories, MW2 made all of that better, and BLOPS was the one I played the most in spite of horrible hit detection, but it brought wager match. I just feel they put it all together with AW but it's a shame some people never really gave it a shot. IW looks to be building on that formula, but the space setting and remastered coming out right with it already has people saying hell no. You like what you like, agreed. I think, for me, playing COD4 again will be exciting, but it will be a novelty that will wear off quickly.

MW2 remastered would have me more interested.

I did try Advanced Warfare, but I didn't buy it. I didn't like it at all. I know that I judge a book by it's cover and see "futuristic" and get turned off. So I put that aside. Then I played it and it was all jumping and way too fast paced and it just wasn't fun.

CoD4 isn't tactical or Rainbow Six Siege-like, but it does require a little bit of coordination. It's the perfect mix of setting, pace, style and teamwork to make you have a blast.
