Are MacBooks powerful enough to play games like WoW? I am getting one in a few months, and I want to play Civilization, but I thought you needed gaming PCs for the big games. I really don't have much knowledge of PC gaming, though I do acknowledge that it is superior to the consoles.

I play Civ V on my mac pro with only a good bit of lag at the later ages in between turns.

Im sure it would play WOW and Diablo perfectly, especially with the larger macs.

yes, just keep the graphics turned down. WoW isn't too demanding of computer specs, right? I honestly don't know much about computer gaming. My friends can pretty much do anything on WoW with a Mac, as long as the graphics are turned down.

I played quite a bit of Diablo and Simcity on mine and both worked pretty flawlessly.

I still play a good bit of minecraft, which obviously doesn't need to much power to run

Any USB mouse will most likely have a Mac OS X driver. So buy any...

My pick for best gaming mouse in general would be the SteelSeries Sensei.

I didn't know you had to be poor to know that macs aren't good for gaming

They are less than ideal, but are more than capable of doing what the OP is wanting to do. I think he is aware that his MacBook is not equivalent to a custom built desktop.

ETA: to answer the OP's question, you can't go wrong with SteelSeries.

Why aren't they good for gaming?

You can game on MBPs/iMacs. You won't run the Triple AAA titles but the more popular games today aren't graphically intense.

Boot Camp to W7 and game. My MBP is loaded with indie titles which are perfect for playing on the coach.

EDT: Playing on his MBP might encourage him to join The Master Race. I much rather see someone fill up their Steam library than become locked in a PSN/XBOX Live snake pit.

I was just responding to your comment about poor people not having macs. I know everything you just said.

It was more towards the ppl who shtt on Macs and other Apple products.

They have clearly never used the product before and experienced their hardware. A lot of shtt Apple does that I don't agree with but you can't deny the quality of their products.

The lack of function keys can be a big obstacle in some games. I only use my MBP for crafting and general housekeeping stuff in SWG. Graphics wise it is adequate.

Well I obviously didn't buy it to game on, don't have money or space for a custom rig right now. Thanks for responses.
