I MMO'd my last few years of gameing and mainly did PC based games.

I like the MMO world, but I don't want to or have the time to grind. Also, all the PC competition kept adding macros and using damage calculators and optimizers, it became a chore.

Looking to step back in, but not with the same commitment. Can you MMO on the Consoles now? If so, should I get the Xbox or PlayStation and that stream/steam type set-up?

Haven't played in over 5 years, can consoles keep your attention and is the game play "fair and balanced"?

If you want to multi-player get Diablo 3.

If you want to play for a billion hours by yourself get Kerbal Space Program

Traditional mmo's aren't as popular anymore. Diet mmo's are becoming more of a thing like destiny.

What kind of game do you want to play. Sounds like a less committed mmo? How do you feel about single player rpgs?

I hated that game, another one that I am in the minority on.

I liked Oblivion, never played Skyrim. A few GTA's way back in the day were okay but monotonous.

I like First person shooters, but I liked the open world pvp of the MMo's.

I like the idea of playing on a console with limited buttons, so I don't have to worry about hot-keying any macros to compete. I guess I can just choose a console and start with the Fallout 4 or whatever's hot right now.

I'm not particular, I just am debating whether I should grab a console or make a space in my place for a gaming tower.

Check out the division. Not out yet but soon. March.

Seems like a 3rd person shooter mmorpg but no open world pvp. Designated pvp zones.

Fallout is good.
Witcher3 too.

so the consoles can keep you entertained? Also, is it just $50 for 40-100 hours pf game play or do games now do subs and develop?

Starwars MMO keeps hitting me up and I think it's free or something

Look into destiny also. I can't tell you what platform you want but there are some good suggestions in this thread.

I don't think many games do the sub model like WoW.

A lot of games are free but with in game microtransaction

Consoles are good but lack of mods can be a problem.

All have pros and cons.

I'd figure out what games look the most appealing to you and go from there.

I'm there with you. I totally see the appeal of it. Very geeky. But the learning curve is just insane, and from a "is this best use of my limited gaming time?" perspective, it's unplayable.

If you decide on the old Republic for any reason, let me know. I've been wanting to get into that for a while.

SWtOR was an awesome game at release the class stories are well done, but with no real end game and the fact that you have to play the same zones to see other class zones turned me off. I haven't played it in a couple of years so things might have changed, but the first hours are much fun.

How is the story? It's the only universe I actually care about that.

Smash. Casual smash is a good laugh and you can even change the difficulty of characters to suit your taste

What got me back into gaming after years of being away from it was Starcraft 2 and a friend I played with.

Then that kicked off my spree on Steam. I've had Steam since CS Source and dialup, btw. Just never bought games.

Now I appreciate it as an entertainment form as I would Movies or TV. Because it's can be done solo.
