I did all of them as well. And yes, you have to use a walk through on some.
a few were damn near impossible.

I get what you're saying, and you're correct. A discussion is nothing like a fight, but I'm sure you can understand how the lack of tone can influence one's perception of the nature of the conversation.

Can't a game just be fun to some and not to others?

I'm not a Batman "fan" either, per se, but I thought both games were really fun.
I actually thought about trying Spider-Man hoping the combat system and gameplay might be similar but I've shyed away. Never heard any reviews on it

Well, I am a fan, which is probably why I enjoyed them so much.
I tried for Spider-man games. Some are good, some are kinda bad. Just depends.
