Has anyone downloaded and played yet?

This guy.
ETA: Rolled an evil fighter. Hindsight, bad decision. I wanted to try out dual wielding in a BG1 world. I've had problems with finding enough solid weapons and there are an abundance of evil fighters. Kaigain is so good, so is the new NPC Dorn. The lack of thieves is the real problem in an evil party. Montaron is meh, and is kinda a package deal with Xzar. Imoen is a good character, essentially. At this point I'm thinking I'll just dual Shar-Teel. I'd roll a thief were I to do it over again. Your magic types are covered with Viconia, Edwin, possibly Tiax. Love Tiax from a roleplaying perspective. Also, the new NPC Wild Mage is fun.
If you loved BG the first time it came around and want to rekindle the love for it, I recommend it. For first time players, I still recommend it, though with the caveat that it's not like Western RPGs you're used to. It's a lot slower, but that's not a detriment in my opinion.
It's a little buggy at the moment, but I think the developers and community will take care of that relatively quickly if the BG:EE forums are any indication.

Awesome stuff. I'd also give both my nuts for an enhanced version of Planescape: Torment

My best gaming days were Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale days.

Missed the original baldurs gate back in the day. Played 2 and throne of bhaal.
This is tempting.

You don't have to miss them. I still own them all.

I meant missed as in never played it.
I enjoyed the sequel an expansion thoroughly.
