Lol. Instructions. You're lucky if you get the right metal backplate that is supposed to come with the mobo. If you need help, email me and I'll walk you through it.

my board allegedly has a bios update that will allow it to use am3+ chips - but if it fails it bricks the board

No Broadwell will be 1150.

Skylake will be another socket per Intel's roadmap.

nice. I got an am3+ board for my am3 chip. I almost bought a crosshairs IV ( or whatever they're called) for like 60 bucks but it was only an am3 socket.

AMD has already stated there are no planned socket updates until 2015-16.

The socket is intended as a 6yr plan. As for the FM2, IDK. The world of APU/ARM chips are really having a quick turnaround. I could see that being updated in 2014. You seen a roadmap of this?

Not really, you know the next SATA IV, DDR4 and USB 4.0 will be turned around in 2-3yr time.

It is okay if a socket only lasts 2yrs IMO. You don't have to upgrade if the boards utilities are still current. You know?

Never the less, I can totally understand the madding feeling towards the short current gen lifecycle of intel based boards.

yeah. thats really something to like about amd. as more games make use of extra cores, amd's might finally find a place in gaming once again.
(nothing touches price for performance of the unlocked phenoms of yesteryear )

no, just chatter that FM2 had at least one more update. FM1 dead.
i wonder why its so hard to find a good mITX FM2 board with on board hdmi? those would make great htpc's or budget lan party boxes

dont want. dont want. dont want.

who the hell uses all of the usb3.0 speed now?

i just dont see the bottlenecks any of those would alleviate. seems like improvement for improvements sake.

A good mATX, how about ANY fricking iTX FM2 board.

Seriously, an APU is a small form factor build. I do not understand why you would want an APU on a full size ATX board unless it is an HTPC/Media Server with like 12 HDDS in RAID 10 pairs. IDK.

For my FM2 iTX build I had to wait for the damn thing to come off of backorder from Amazon. NewEgg or anywhere else didn't have the MSI board I wanted. Only thing that was available was the FM2 iTX ASRock FireRock.

No one really. I notice my USB 3.0 devices are pretty quick but fckk, it isn't a big deal really.

I would be interested in DDR4. They would work wonders for those APUs.

Another thing new PC gamers/builders forget is that Intel was in AMD's position before the C2D.

AMD first put the memory controller on the die itself.. Intel followed 2 years later.

AMD first put 2 cores on a die.. Intel followed 3 years later after HT was failing.

Cut the cable bro.. it just makes you better at pirating media.

This is the board I purchased with an A8-5600K.

MSI FM2 A75 iTX

Yes it is an A75 but the damn A85 chipset never fckking got released in the iTX formfactor.
