If so, what are soem of the better weapons(non enchanted)?

For me, the Dremora Claymore has been beast. I found some nice enchanted armor, that doesnt need recharging, but i'm looking for weapons, that dont need to be recharged.

Shocked how weak the chillrend is on the game. It was a very nice glass sword on skyrim.

the flame atronach is a beast on the game. compared to the one in skyrim,

the oblivion gates do get tedious after the first 7

but a good game, and after playing skyrim, the next game should be great.

i tried as a level 12 fighter to get that sword, and the beyatch kicked my arse, i even tried to run to the imperial city, so the guards would finish her off, no dice, she kept stabbing me in the back.

guess i need to keep leveling up. i was using an elven sword, but it did no damage

The problem is most of the weapons in the game scale to your level you are when you find them. That's probably why the chillrend you found was weak.

Check out this chart.

Chillrend can go from 7-21 damage, depending on what level you are when you find it. Not to mention, the proc effect gets stronger too. So, you got screwed.

This is why I absolutely hated oblivion. I was a huge morrowind player and it hurt me when I saw how badly level scaling was implemented in Oblivion and how many other horrible design flaws they made. They fixed most of these problems in Fallout 3 and Skyrim.

I always recommend Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul (Mod) to anyone that plays Oblivion. It's almost a complete overhaul to all the bad systems in the game, and actually makes it awesome.

The horrible thing about Oblivion is the scaling. Soon enough, every peasant bandit will be loaded in glass armor and every marauder will have daedric and ebony armor. It doesn't really matter what you have, you enemies will have a pretty equivalent version of it. If you play on PC, you can fix this with mods like OOO. Obsidian actually hired the creator of OOO to work on Fallout New Vegas, they were so impressed with his mod.

Yeah I thought the Chillrend was the most powerful weapon you could find?

For power, it's umbra and goldbrand.

Like I already said though, go get the Daedric weapons by doing the Daedric statue quests. They are some really cool ones.

If I remember right, there is a staff that turns people into random animals who can't attack you called Wabbajack.

well, i started a new character, because i killed the dude before the fighters guild guy got there. he wouldnt move from a spot, so i went in after hours of advancing. killed him, came out, and the dude wont take the artifact, so its a broken quest.

so after everyone talked about not getting certain weapons, till later, i end up heading to a bar, for the long lost brothers, and the father asks me to help his sons, bang, a horrible chillrend i get! feck!!!!! I forgot he gave you the chillrend, or i would of never done the quest!
