Anyone have to deal with a broken Wii U gamepad?

Mine quit working for some reason so I'm just wondering if anybody has experienced shipping it back and the time frame for getting it back

Doesn't power on and doesn't charge when I plug it in to the charger

I do know that Nintendo will replace it for you if it falls under warranty. New gamepad is $150 out of warranty.
