I was worried about selling my OG Ps4 on ebay considering all the buyer scams that happen all the time. The worst being they buy the ps4 say its broken and send back a phonebook . So they take your perfectly fine ps4 and get their money back. Ebay usually sides with the buyer too which is wack. There's things you can do though to minimize risk.

I sold mine successfully for 250 the other day, but the first 3 buyers that tried to buy it were scammers for sure. I canceled the orders immediately. They all had 0 feedback and 2 of them had accounts that were made the day I put up the listing. The other had a 9 year old ebay account with 0 ratings. That was odd so I canceled on him as well. Scammers have a shite ton of accounts. You can still even get scammed by people with lots of good ratings, but much less likely.

So after all the fees and shipping I got 200 bucks for my ps4 that I put towards the pro. Way better than gamestops 125 dollar trade in value.

TLDR; Be careful selling your console or any higher value item on ebay.

Ebay for me is just not worth it anymore with the fees from them and paypal. Id rather take my chances with craigslist going forward. I mean really 10% for ebay .

Sell on Amazon. It takes long as shite to process, but they are safe about it.

I've sold multiple things on ebay, but I haven't sold a console. I have gotten multiple people ask to deal through pay pal rather than ebay.

The only issue I have ever had was someone reporting back saying that a baseball glove that I sold them through paypal rather than ebay (at their request) had some markings on it that weren't there when I packaged it. Rather than dealing with it I gave them $20 back on the $230 glove and called it even.

I can't say for sure whether or not they scammed me, but when I dropped the glove and box off at UPS I didnt have tape and I was in a hurry. The lady working at UPS insisted that she package it for me so the defect could have happened then.
