A game you really liked but never finished

My list of unfinished game could make for some good reading on a trans continental flight. But what game, or games, did you really get into but for some reason never got around to finishing?
One that I'm constantly thinking "I really need to get back into that game" is The Division. I know it's flawed (I'm the self professed Ubisoft apologist here), but I really enjoyed my time with it, and if it wasn't for how it punishes you for playing solo, I'd still be into it. Dark Zone was a blast in the beta but apparently not so much in the final product. I see they are still doing updates and DLC's, so I always have that itch.
Some day.
Only other one I can think of is Assassin's Cree Brotherhood. I platinum'd 2 a month ago and had planned on continuing on with Brotherhood but was AC'd out and needed a break.

Breath of the Wild
My whole switch system has been put on the back burner lately. Nothing against the game or the switch in general, just haven't picked it up in a while.

Skyrim.
Played 200 hours but never advanced the main story beyond the 2nd quest.
Then my XBox broke.
Bought it for PC a year later. Maxed out the stats and side quests and once again still didn't move beyond the 2nd or 3rd main quest.

If we're allowed to go old school, then Kid Icarus on the NES.
For new games, I haven't finished Fallout 4 because I'm still having fun exploring.

The Division
MGS V
Skyrim
I did fire up The Division last night. I plan on at least hitting 30 and checking out the DLC.

I can't get a handle on this game, much like Dishonored 2. I think it's a matter of not understanding how the stealth works. It's frustrating for me to feel like I'm sneaking around well enough and all of the sudden I'm surrounded.
And as far as Skyrim, I get the running joke about not doing the story, but I actually pushed through and finished it years ago and couldn't have been more underwhelmed.

I never beat the final boss in Final Fantasy 12. All of my character levels were in the mid 60s and I was dominating just about everything else. I had all the best weapons in the game too. The last boss was just super hard.
My 360 was stolen when I was in the middle of AC Brotherhood so I never finished that either. I'm playing it now on the Ezio Collection though.

The Witcher 3
I was having a ton of fun playing it, but I went out of town for two weeks and just haven't had any gaming time since. I fully plan on picking it back up when I get the chance, but who knows when that will be.

Do you roll out with the dog? She sniffs out anybody near by. I never have an issue getting caught unaware by an enemy with DD. Quiet spots pretty well too but she cant always see
every enemy.

This. It's an incredible looking game and I've heard it opens up after the long tutorial but I just couldn't get into it.
It got tougher to want to go back after destiny 2, NBA 2k, and Madden all came out.
I'll eventually go back but not anytime soon with battlefront and assassin's creed about to come out.

I'm not far into the game at all. When exactly do you get the dog?

Breath of the Wild and Witcher 3 are two that spring to mind. In both cases I got too busy to play for 1+ month. It's hard to be near the endgame and have to completely re-learn the controls.

He will show up as a puppy at the landing zone of mission 4 but you can apparently find him earlier. You have to fulton him back to base. I found this:
Once Mission 02 has been cleared, DD can be recruited as a Buddy, and is found near the deployment points of Mission 03, 04 and 05. The main points he appears in during free roam are near Shago Village, the Eastern Communications Post, and Wakh Sind Barracks. If Mission 01 is replayed, he can be found on a hill before the first guard outpost. The puppy can be recovered via Fulton when he is found (tranquilizing him is not necessary).
If the player misses DD in the mission he is recruited at, the player may go back to the location he is found at during free roam or a mission to recruit him at any time. While accompanying Snake, DD will sniff out guards and plants, and bark to warn of any enemies, objectives, animals, weapons, and hostages nearby. DD will occasionally urinate and mark territory.

Before you get DD make sure you are scoping out every camp with your binoculars to mark each bad guy on your hud. Even with DD this is important later so you know their rank and can plan on which ones to fulton out for recruiting.

I think another problem I have is the desire to take out every guard before I proceed to the objective. I feel like with this game, especially early on, it's ok to just sneak by people.

Whatever works for you. DD helps you identify threats easier so you can sneak a lot better and pick & choose your targets. I usually play the missions twice. Once to go as fast as possible to S rank which usually means avoiding contact. The second play through I just want to get objectives by any means necessary.
