We hit that place twice on Saturday night for dinner (BR) and place was surprisingly sparsely crowded. What gives? Yeah, I know there are other options, but It's a decent meal. Is it the location that limits the crowd? A place more to go on Sunday after church?

(Stupid autocorrect!)

Agreed. And to my point. The food is good. That's why I can't figure out why the place isn't packed.

Zea is akin to J. Alexander's in the sense that both are above average chain restaurants, that do things good, and most of all, consistently.

Yep, very much like Houton's when it was around in as much as consistent.

Zea is terrific. Not a fan of chains but this is a local one and they have a very good menu. Most of the beer sucks though. They have made some exceptions and added a few decent ones.

I think quality has gone down at the BR location from like 4 or 5 years ago. Just my thoughts.

Yep. The hickory burger was once my favorite burger in New Orleans. But this was 15-20 years ago before fhe growth of hamburger joints across town, back when Port of Call was widely considered the best.

Does Zeas still sell sauces in grocery stores? I used to love making the Korean barbeque tacos at home.

It's def. a slow time for restaurants in Nola so I'm assuming the same for BR.

I like Zea.

Summer is always slow down here. August has some of the best deals of the year with Coolinary.

My biggest knock against Zea is that many times when I receive my cooked bird, I think to myself and say they should have let this one live and get a little bigger before plating it.

That said, food and service are always very good.

Knock against Houston's is that they are now very proud of their pricing. Again, service and food are very good.

Was there Saturday night as well.
I had the same thoughts.
I know I went a year ago or so but left because it was a half hour wait.
Was surprised it was so slow now.

But the Ribs, Grits and Duck empanadas were as good as ever.

Always enjoy Zea's. I go back and forth between the Thai ribs and twice cooked duck. Corn grits and sweet potato mash

This x1000. After the prices went up and the portions went down, I can't bring myself to go back anymore.Food was just okay to begin with and it's not very beer friendly. Many more options within a hundred yards of the place.
