The menu is $255 per person

Yeah? And?

shite NOLA has Square Root which is not THAT far off in terms of price (but I'm sure considerably far off in terms of quality).

I'm pretty sure there are more expensive places than that.

Look at Spain kicking arse. Are these all former El Bulli disciples?

I'm fricking going to Spain. Although, Modena is in Italy, not Spain.

ETA: Also, one of the high up pastry chefs at Mugaritz is actually a former Masterchef Australia contestant - Kylie Millar. Hot and its amazing that she was a home cook less than 2 years ago.

Spain has been of my food bucket list for a few years. May never check it off, but it's there.

I'm actually planning a huge trip for my 30th next year, and I'm deciding between Thailand and Spain. Both are for food reasons.

That place is pretty damn great. I did have to eat Ramen for the next month to make-up for the bill.

It holds our record for most spent on a meal alone...

My 30th birthday:
suite at the Waldorf astoria, limo ride to Eleven Madison, cognac at the end with chef and Somm...then met friends at Please Don't Tell

I'm traveling from Venice to Florence on August 29. Thinking I might need to detour to Modena.

Absolutely...the town is beautiful and the meal was reasonable (given the circumstances).

You also need to go Antico Pedroni, the balsamico place Bourdain ventures too...that meal was incredible.
