Can anyone recommend a good BBQ thermometer that will send me updates to my phone if I'm not at home?

ETA: BBQ GURU WIFI
BBQ GURU CYBERQ
Have had the BBQ GURU WIFI for a few years and works very well. Can control pit temp and view ambient temp with three probes for food and a pit probe. Works in adhoc or infrastructure mode (able to be seen when away from home or set up to work within your internal home network, only). The only thing that I am not "impressed" with is that they do not have a slick app to view the pit settings. There is a third party app I utilize, but it seems they just put all the effort into the hardware development and didn't try to "pretty" it up. I recommend it for overnight cooks so you can get some sleep!!

Go with the Maverick. Check Amazon, I got a great deal there.

I believe NeauxLA is looking for a wifi thermometer based upon wanting to get updates if "he's not home". Unless I've missed something, I don't think Maverick offers this technology as they only offer bluetooth tech and that's a range limited to your household, only.

I use a Maverick ET-733 which is local wireless communication to just the display unit.
It appears they're coming out with Maverick ET-736 that will connect via Wifi.

I messed up a brisket on Saturday due to leaving.

It was sort of a joke, but honestly your cheapest/easiest solution. Get a $40-50 IP camera and access it remotely. All you need is to see the numbers. You can't control or change anything from the bar anyway.

You can also do this with an iPad / old phone and a a cheap app called IPCamera (I think) -- stream it to your computer, use OBS LINK / to push it to YouTube and check the YouTube on your phone.
I always put a digital watch next to the thermometer to make sure it's updating
