Compressed pork scraps are cheaper at certain times of the year. I'm by no means a fast food snob, I'm fat and eat it too often, but the McRib is one of the worst foods I've ever had.

There was an episode of Raising Hope, where Hope's mom who was a serial killer on death row, requested for her last meal a McRib and a Shamrock Shake. They had to keep postponing the execution because McDonald's never has them on the menu at the same time.
