I don't get the craving for burritos often (typically stick to La Morinita's tacos), but the mood strikes me tonight. What's your go-to burrito?

Izzo's if you catch them on a good night. The quality of ingredients can vary depending on how long they have been sitting out. I've heard good things about the place simply labeled "Burrito" on burbank near Gardere.

Bad news, I think "Burrito" shut down. Went by there on Tuesday and it was totally dark. They may be on vacation but it looked grim.

El Tio is a few yards down Burbank and they have excellent food but I don't think they do a Burrito.

How about Zippy's? I rode by it on the way to City Pork last night, and it was packed.

Yea I went to "burrito" the other month. I walked in and it was completely different looking inside, different menu and ownership. The food and service was shite and they no longer had the big burritos and it was cash only. I was extremely disappointed and vowed never to go back. I hope the new place is out of business because that was a slap in the face compared to the old place.

That's a shame. I haven't been to BR in a couple years, but I used to eat there with quite some regularity. They always had a soccer game on in Spanish at a ridiculous volume, usually a table of guys who would be constantly looking at the gringos, and children wandering around while their parents worked. Just like every good Mexican place should be.

Man when Izzos is good its good, but my last 2 trips have been horrible burritos. The worst is when you get the new guy who skimps you on the meat and rolls it like a cigarette instead of a chunky burrito. The game changer for the Izzos burrito is the tortilla strips at the end

I'm with you PP. When it's good, it's great but when you get the trainee actually being serious about portion control you want to reach across the glass and slap him and say, 'I was eating here before you were born, now put some fricking meat in my burrito!'

yeah the OGs just say F it and load it up. Last time I also had a few pieces of steak that were chew toys. And my always and forever gripe about Izzos is the side queso in the meal deal. Are you fricking kidding me with this tiny arse cup of cheese that I can't even fit my chip into!?
