So I've got a question about 'ol Elmer. I didn't try Elmer T Lee until several months ago and it was awful. Said I'd never buy it again and was confused since several posters have said it's their go-to.. Well I picked up a few bottles at lunch today and decided to give Elmer T Lee a second chance. This bottle is very good! I know it's a single barrel and every barrel is different, etc etc... but have you ever got a bottle of single barrel bourbon that you were familiar with that was just bad?

Has anyone ever been to any of the big tastings, such as Whisky Fest or Kentucky Bourbon Festival?
I have been thinking about getting a couple of friends and making a weekend of it, but want to make sure I am getting the most bang for the buck.

I think mine came from Cuban's around January. The distributor probably had bottles from all the same barrel in the Baton Rouge area till they sold through...

The bad bottle i got came from churchills sometime around the end of January as well.

I dont...it got used for bourbon and cokes. I just looked at this new bottle though and there arent any barrel numbers like four roses, etc

Never been to the bourbon festival but know some who have. They highly highly recommend going if you're a bourbon fan
