Will be in town in a couple of weeks and looking to try a restaurant we haven't been to yet. While Peche would be my first choice, it is booked solid.

Of these, where would you go and why.

Boucherie
Toups Meatery
Maurepas Foods
Bistro Daisy
Apolline

Other suggestions welcomed.

All of them.

Very good choices, but its going to depend entirely on what EXACTLY you're looking for.

Because all of them are good. So let's narrow it down.

Boucherie - good stuff
Toups Meatery - going wed
Maurepas Foods - was pretty good but not impressive
Bistro Daisy - heard good things
Apolline - no idea
Peche - going to night

I'd vote Bistro Daisy

Apolline is the only place on the list I have been and I was underwhelmed.

Alternate recs, just to make it harder. Instead of Apolline go down the street to the newly opened Dominique's, which is what Apolline was before Dominique left. Instead of Maurepas try Booty's. Instead of Bistro Daisy check out Mariza in the Bywater.

OK, looking for good cocktails, decent wine list, informed service, and delicious food trumps all.

I am thinking Boucherie is the one, but it may be too casual. Not looking to impress anyone, however I would like it feel like a night out, not just eating.

Does this give you anything to work with?

Out of your group, I'd pick Bistro Daisy.

You might want to consider Coquette. I think it fits your description.

Exact same thoughts. I love Boucherie though.

Coquette is outstanding, but have been a couple of times already this year.

What about Patois? How is it holding up? Haven't heard much about it lately.

Patois is as good as ever as far as I'm concerned.

1 / Bistro Daisy - excellent food, service and wine list but this is quite high end, formal dining spot.
2 / Boucherie - best food in the city for the price as far as I'm concerned. more casual and approachable as well.
3 / Maurepas - really good menu and great cocktails. in the Bywater if you want to venture outside FQ/uptown/downtown
4 / Apolline - just okay. I need to give it another shot but wasn't overly impressed the one time I went.

Toups - haven't been

It is low key and casual, but the food is really, really good. The service is "casual hip", but I mean that as a compliment. The servers are knowledgeable and very friendly. The cocktails measure up.

You cannot go wrong with Boucherie.
