I've had the wing app before and it did not live up to the hype, to me. I am impressed with simply how pulled it off, though.

Forgot about cafe du monde. That's always a good hangover spot. We're gonna be staying in uptown, though, off Freret, any coffee shop or other rec's around there?

Mojo coffee is right there. Fantastic cup of coffee.

Also all along Freret you have Company Burger, Ancora, High Hat, and probably most importantly , Cure. Great area of town.

ETA: I also really like Freret St. Po Boy and Donut. Underrated spot.

Agreed. I also like Wayfare on Freret. That roast beef sandwich and that porchetta sandwich are really good.

I feel like Wayfare has gotten progressively worse. Last visit was disappointing food wise and its fairly expensive for a sandwich spot. Should rename the place Parkwayfare. Zing.

Peche. They're open all day, so the best time to go is mid afternoon since they'll be wicked busy on a weekend night.

Chef Ryan Prewitt is married to my cousin. Plus anywhere else that the locals like to go to

That's disappointing to hear. I've always been a fan, but haven't been in nearly a year.

They switched from an order at counter and grab a seat to table service. For two sandwiches and a Beet salad (4 segments beets, mostly romaine) and three local draft beers it was about a $90 lunch with tax and tip. They are making a killing and busy, but I'll stick with other sandwich artists.

If you're going on a weekend any time soon, start making your reservations because weekends for some places can be tough. You can always cancel as you firm things up if you change your mind, just don't do it all last minute.

They always were pretty high, but it's hard to rationalize a nearly $100 lunch involving sandwiches.

Too bad.

PSA: I would get dinner down the street at Ancora or Hi Hat then get cocktails at Cure. Cure has some small plates but it is really not a sit down dinner place to my knowledge. I don't know if they'll have enough food there to constitute a dinner.
