La Boca. Take a cab. It should cost about 6 bucks (cab fare that is).

La Boca should be the winner by a wide margin.

heres the menu for you. its reasonably close, fantastic steak, youre fine being a little casual and youll get some fun twists as opposed to a strict traditional steak house meal.

Patios?

If you mean Patois, that's not exactly what I'm looking for. More steak choices would be better.

La Boca's is booked up. Anything else?

Staying in NOLA and you're looking for a Steakhouse?

Personally, I wouldn't suggest La Boca to you. I assume you want a standard steakhouse.

I'd go with Desi Vega's. It's close to Roosevelt. Don't think it's too dressy. Most places don't require a jacket.

Yeah, that is the very definition of "meh".

I mean the Roosevelt has Domenica in it, which is a great place in itself.

But Desi Vega's if you must have a steakhouse.

It's what she wants! She isn't a huge seafood fan.

This or La Boca if she is demanding steak.

I would have her look at the menu of Pelican Club or Murials to see if you can convince her of something else.

If you don't mind spending some $$$ Delmonico is pretty damn nice place and has steaks and lots of other stuff.
Pretty romantic, especially if it is a weekend and they have music in the bar area.

There are literally thousands of other choices besides "steak" and "seafood".

There are restaurants that have a variety of things, including both.

But I digress...

The best steakhouses are:

Mr John's/Desi Vega (same owners)
La Boca
Ruth's

Not to hijack, but probably the worst place to get a fantastic steak is at a steakhouse. Just the sheer numbers of steaks a steakhouse cooks means they arent usually getting the absolute pinnacle meat. A steak at a restaurant that doesnt expressly traffic in steaks, if the restaurant is any good. Will usually be light years ahead of a standard steakhouse steak.

This of course assumes a restaurant is sourcing fantastic meat, which some are.

Go to Iris, they have always had a badass steak frites on the menu with bone marrow butter.
