Nothing to over the top just someplace to get some good food and a beer.

Can't remember if they have beer? Maybe in bottles?

Definitely best burger though.

Pretty sure Michael Burger is beer and wine only, Watermans has a full bar.

Huh, got there pretty late and only had the beer. Guess I should have tried the burger.

OP:

Sorry you have to be in Galveston. What a shite hole. Make the best of it.

Olympia at Pier 21 has some of the best Greek food I've ever had. Get the big sampler platter deal and it comes with like 10 different things. The pastisio and moussaka are awesome.

Better be hungry tho. It's enough for 2 + a doggie bag.

It's very good. Owner gets his meat from some farm in SE Texas.

It is a shite hole but I said bye to the island a few weeks ago

There today?

Michael Burger is closed Monday and I believe Tuesday.

Brews Brothers is cool for beer and has some food.

Jimmys On the Pier is a cool place also. Decent food and beer selection. While there imagine trying to ride out Hurricane Ike where you are sitting. Some dumbass did. When it was only a fishing pier and bait shop. Owners tried to ride out the storm in the room above (now the bar). Got scared and went to leave. Looked downstairs into the gulf which was where their bait shop once was.

Yes just here for the night. Thanks for all the options, a big burger is sounding pretty good.

Ain't a damn thing wrong with Galveston. Unless you are looking for a place to live, or are looking at the water.

Stay on The Strand or on the Seawall (and look inland).

Looking for beer only in a place you need a tetanus shot to enter? The Poop Deck. It's a guilty white teach pleasure I enjoy when I'm down there. But it's like fricking a fat girl.

Always thought that was a gay bar.

Isn't the rainbow flag flying out front?

ETA: Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I like Guydan's myself. There is also a place on the water side down a bit from there I ate at last trip that was pretty good - up on a pier.
