Wok used for pad thai. How hard is to season properly? I bought a steel wok from amazon a while back and had a nightmare of a time seasoning it/keeping it maintained.

It must be a newer item. I looked for an hour last time for reasonably priced woks on there.

Anyways, appreciate it. Just ordered that bad boy.

You can always find cheap woks at Asian grocery stores or restaurant supply shops.

The wok looks more like a frying pan?

But if you insist she's using a wok then you might want to check out a Cantonese flat bottom wok.

Its not a wok. It looks like a carbon steel frying pan. You can substitute a large cast iron pan.

Lodge makes a cast iron wok that has a flat bottom to make maximum contact with the burner surface, but the inside is round. I had one and it worked great because you could preheat it and get it screaming hot, which is what woks are supposed to provide.
