Louisiana, granted I grew up here. But it really is its own category. Most other "southern" states have their specialties but the styles are all the same.

Food board downvoting is really interesting to me. Why does LL get like 6 downvotes for every post?

FDB has stalkers with time on their hands. I don't notice unless someone brings it up because the down and up votes have no substance and you don't know who's voting. They likely don't even read the posts. Pretty meaningless exercise unless it counts as additional clicks for the board owners relative to advertising. Looks like I've collected a stalker or two. Carry on!

Southern meal:
Fried chicken/catfish
Fried okra, Sweet potatoes
Grits, Cornbread, Biscuits
Peas
Cobbler

FYI...I think Acadiana Cajun dishes such as rice & gravies, jambalaya, gumbos, fricasse , etc are different than "Southern cuisine"

This, and it's not just this board. Someone used to follow Cadello around and downvote everything he posted within a few seconds.

You wouldn't believe the amount of e-mails and IRL inquiries I've gotten about this.

I can't give you an answer. I have no idea. But like Gris said, this board has a little secret posse that goes around and downvotes everything. I don't think anyone cares though.
