I usually just grab Emerils or Paul Prudhomme rib rub, but I'm looking for something different. Also, what is your favorite cut of rib. I always do baby backs

St Louis cut is my preferred rib.
Byron's Butt Rub cut with turbinado 2:1 is my preferred pork rub.

Make my own. 8/3/1/1 method, usually with an extra "1"

ETA: unless we're talking beef ribs (wasn't specified). Different formula for that

I use the rub that is described in this recipe/cook demo. I use St Louis style or just spare ribs.

https://virtualweberbullet.com/best-ribs-in-the-universe-by-mike-scrutchfield.html

I also just do the typical 3-2-1 method of cooking the ribs and don't worry about burning off all the wood.

If you use this rub, you have to mix the sauce with honey and apply before eating. the sweetness of the sauce combined with the saltiness of the rub makes the best tasting rib, well, in the universe.

This gets plenty of downvotes but I love it.

Like a poster noted above using Bad Brad's Butt Rub cut with turbinado sugar works well. I've tried a variety of them on the market and there are some good ones out there. I tried Famous Dave's Rib Rub recently and thought it was good. It was a good change of pace from my normal way.

I make my own, I try different sugars and spices. I have a go to based off a Memphis competition team that I really enjoyed.
