I live right across from the one in Algiers. It doesn't try to be anything it isn't. It's a little better than cucos. The salsa and queso are really good and that takes care of 80% of what I want from a Mexican place. I also like their chimichangas and tamales.

If I'm not mistaken they are about to open on in beautiful downtown Bastrop LA.

We frequent the one in Gonzales only because it's close to home. Not the best Mexican food, but not the worst. The service is always hit or miss. It's just mediocre.

since you are always in the New Orleeens, hit up La Casita on corner of Julia and St. Charles. Will put all of them to shame! 634 Julia to be exact.

Some saying meh but in Houma it is my go to for Mexican food with the wife and kids. Pretty consistent and better than most in Houma IMO.

I enjoy it. I either get the numero tres or a california burrito.

I like their black sauce a lot.

Raceland has 3 Mexican 4 if you count Taco Bell and the only place I've seen actual Mexicans eating is at El Paso. It's not bad. Things I get most often are Soupa Cameron, Shrimp Ceviche, Hamburger (most Mexican Joints have a good Hamburger) fish tacos and the Chile Relano. You get chips, 2 Salsas and bean dip thats comlimentary. I eat the shut out of the cold salsa and bean dip.

Simmons Sporting goods, and yes it's still open. Also, I was mistaken. The mexican joint I thought was El Paso Mexican grill is really Santa Fe Mexican grill.

It's been decent and fairly consistent the few times that I've gone there.

It's passable...strategic ordering to avoid the gloppier cheesed out combo plates will yield a decent meal. Tortilla soup, ceviche, freshly fried chips. Slightly better than fast food, with usually competent, friendly service at the SE LA outposts. The kinda place where you can take a little league team, have a committee meeting, or get sloshed on cheap margaritas.

They flavor their steak well. Steak burrito is good there.
