I keep seeing Jay Ducote post some interesting dishes from there. He tags the restaurant IG handle, which links to a person's private account.

ETA a google search yielded the website which says they open tomorrow. Still, anyone know anything about it or the chef

I believe it's open officially today. They did a couple of preview dinners on Thursday and Friday, and it looks good.

We finally tried Cocha last night. Definitely a different menu for BR but great food. Parking a breeze, great decor and awesome bar. The lunch and brunch menu seem more mainstream. Felt more like NY than BR. Hope everyone gives it a try.

Is it a good setting for a business dinner during the week?

Unfortunately we did brunch there. Food was served on what appeared to be appetizer plates and wasn't very good. Took 2 hours for the 4 of us to receive and eat what was essentially about 5 bites of food each. I really hope the dinner menu is much better. It's a shame that so many mediocre restaurants continue to open in BR

The description posted up in this thread doesn't sit well with me..
It's like they Googled all of the most over used pretentious restaurant food descriptions and used them.
I will give them a try

I want to give the place another shot because the menu is interesting and the food is good. But unfortunately, both times I've had it were a ripoff.

I got the French onion grilled cheese to-go (I work a block away). It was $11-$12,and it was on regular sandwich sized bread and came with no sides. A grilled cheese off the kids menu at most restaurants even come with a side.

The second time, I dined in. Got a roasted beet salad. It was $12, I believe. It was on an appetizer plate and was only a few bites of food.

I keep hearing good things, so maybe I just made two poor order choices. I'm a very light eater normally.

It's a tapas type restaurant. Plates will be small.

Only had good experiences and will keep coming back.

I ordered a sandwich. A sandwich is not "tapas". I'm all about small plates, but if you serve a grilled cheese sandwich on regular sandwich slices and there's no side, it shouldn't be $10.

Honestly, the lunch menu doesn't give the impression of tapas at all. That might be the aim at dinner, but the lunch menu is salads, entree plates, entree bowls, and sandwiches. Those aren't tapas items. Tapas are sharable. Salads, sandwiches, and plates like fish aren't generally considered sharable.

The owners seem like great people, and I'd be open to checking the place out at dinner.

This is total bullshite. People just use the word tapas so they can serve small portions with no side and charge insane prices for it. A beet salad, or almost any salad, that costs $12 should be a freaking entree. You want to serve small plates with 4 bites of food then I better be charged a price that matches.

Went there this weekend. Will not be going back. Ended up going to McDonald's after so we could get full.

The portions were ridiculously tiny. We got the scallops for an appetizer. $12 for 2 scallops not much bigger than a quarter. Also got the garlic knots. Bread stuffed with garlic cloves. It was a little dry and hard, and you only get 2 of em. Again, maybe the circumference of a silver dollar.
I got the steak something (don't remember the name) for my entree. Again, small portion. Steak was ok, but they left a complete slab of fat on the end, mixed in with the steak and accoutrements. It was sliced steak, for clarification.
Wife had the redfish. It was also a very small filet, and it had no flavor.

I'm assuming the lack of flavor or spice in the meals is supposed to be part of the "well the locally sourced produce is the flavor". But it failed on that end.

Was pretty pissed to have spent the money we spent to have to go to McDonald's because it didn't fill anyone up.

This place will fail unless they up the portion size, or drastically reduce the price.

Sorry, you sound fat.

I went for lunch Friday and had the redfish. It was plenty of food for a light lunch. $16 didn't seem outrageous.

I thought it was well done. Food is good. I don't think they are catering to the eat by the pound crowd.

Same portions for dinner i assume. $22 for the redfish, $25 for the Steak Roulade.

I could make better food. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. For that price and portion size, i expect a Wow factor. There was none. Tiny Portion, over-priced, average food.

For comparison, i went to Peche in New Orleans the next day and got small plates for my dinner (we ate early) and did not have to supplement with a fast food cheeseburger. I know it's not fair to compare a Link restaurant to BR...but i would expect more from a $91 dinner tab.

Went several weeks ago with the wife for dinner. We split 3 small plates and each had a drink. We didn't leave full, but weren't hungry when we left either. The portions were enough, and more in line with what I really should be eating, instead of what I normally eat. We'll be back.

Well there were 4 of us. And all of us had the same thought when we left. "We're hungry, going grab a cheeseburger so my stomach is content".

I wasn't trying to stuff myself to where it hurt. I did that Sunday at The Francis in St. Francisville. But if i would have left as full as i did from Peche, i would have been fine. Now as far as flavor, i just found it to be a bit bland.

I thought Kalurah was much better.
