I don't think there's a deep dish pie in BR.

Meh, most people I know don't care for them. NY style >>>> Chicago style and yes, I've had both at their respective origin. I guess it's unfortunate that those who do like them don't really have an option but that is fairly common around the country if you don't live in Chicago or a major city...

Exactly.. That is also why there are rarely many options around the country if this type of thing floats your boat. To say I don't care for them is an understatement, I honestly think they're a doughy, greasy, gut bomb.
eta: I also think that offering a deep dish option is a problem for many places because they take 30 minutes or more to cook which means it's difficult to make to order. I just had some coworkers go to a new Gino's East here in Houston and they were warned that a deep dish would take 30 minutes to an hour to make. That's a significant barrier to order for most folks looking for a pizza when they're accustomed to 20 minutes or less at any restaurant for pizza. I'm all for taking my time for a nice meal but pizza would never be my choice if I know I'm going to invest that kind of time...

It's definitely NOT. It's basically the Pizza Hut Pan model. Big, heavy, doughy crust. I so badly want a Chicago style pizza sometimes and I saw their advertisement for their deep dish pizza. So I went, excited about my soon-to-be devoured lunch, only to be disappointed by their doughy bounty.
frickers!

Lou Malanati's Chicago Style Pizza
You can order them shipped if you are desperate. I think they come half baked and you finish them off in your oven.
I have done this and they come out pretty good.
