My Mardi gras ball is this weekend and I'm looking for a good drink to put a little pep in my step. I usually just drink beer but I wanted something with a little kick to get me started.

Not a fan of white wine at all. Only drink red wine if at dinner.

I'm looking for something either premixed I can buy in the store or something easy I can mix ahead of time and bring with me.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

We always get crown.

I normally am a bourbon guy , but crown mixes well with anything you have handy or is good straight.

I feel like the key to a good ball experience is variety though, having people at your table bring crown, bourbon, vodka and beer as well as shooters makes for a good night.

Crown is too strong for me.

I should have noted that I'm a chick.

I like to suggest an Amaretto based cocktail for females. They seem to love them and not know it.

For the Spanish Town Ball, I go between bringing bourbon and Coke or vodka and OJ.

Do you need fruity or are you okay with bland?

My go-to drink when I'm on the go is vodka/water. Tastes like nothing and it doesn't even matter if the ice melts.

I've been known to fill a regular Dasani water bottle with vodka and water for shopping or when walking around cities with open container restrictions. Looks like water.

i'm a vodka drinker. i love it with the flavored la croix drinks or mix it with some water and fresh lemon juice. You can premix lemon juice and put it in a water bottle. Bring a few other easy mixers in case you don't want just one drink.

Oddly enough, my friend who definitely is a drunk is who got me onto it. She was bringing vodka everywhere in her water bottle. I don't drink like that, but I do sometimes want a drink on the go (not every city is like New Orleans where you can hop with a drink), so I adapted her method on those occasions.

Squeeze lemon and/or lime like Marie said if you like a little flavor.

Watermelon/Vodka Jell-O Shots. Bring them in a small carry ice chest with the frozen gel packs. Id say 40 or 50 should do ya.
