I've been having a hard time finding a good Salsa in the store... I used to get the Tiger Salsa at Rouses in Covington but haven't seen it in a while.

I've been buying some different ones but they all taste to tomato saucey like Pace to me and I hate it.

Any Salsa recommendations out there?

Legit. Quite a few different flavors.

You want hot? Have a couple of gallons of water nearby.

Mrs. Renfro's Jalapeno Green Salsa FTW. I love the stuff.

ETA: Hell on the Red is solid too. The hot queso dip is the best cheese dip you can get.

Hell on the Red

Salsa is one thing I seldom repeat. I don't eat it all that often and when I want a jar I get whatever looks interesting. I've been disappointed a few times...

Maybe something is wrong with me but my least favorite buy was Renfro's...

Opened a jar of that yesterday. Great flavor then a wave of solid heat.

I do make my own Pico but havn't attempted the homemade Salsa though. Maybe my taste buds have matured past ragu salsa...

Homemade pico and salsa are preferred, but Cousin's is my fave store-bought.

It's fresh, not cooked, and pureed (mostly). Nicely spicy too.

I actually have never tried the green salsa.

Other suggestions noted...

Casa Manana here in Lake Charles. I never eat there anymore but the salsa is great and they sell it in local grocery stores. Last time I went shopping I picked up some Tobasco hot salsa and I really like it(especially on eggs). Good heat and flavor. Chunkier and hotter than the Casa salsa, which is blended pretty smooth. Will probably keep both in the fridge now.
