The newer BBQ place in Tucker is decent. Not great, but good. Weird name, "For the Greater Good"

Owned by the Fellini's people.

Gonna check them out, if for no other reason than the Wife loves Fellini's and that'll make it easier to get her on board.

Blues BBQ. Kinglsand, GA.

Too bad the owner committed a double homicide and they closed the place down. He had a picture with Muhammad Ali in the window. Place was legit. LINK

I did the lockhart Texas thing. If you really like Texas BBQ i think Schmidt's was the best, but i prefer pork to Beef BBQ

E&L's in Jackson Mississippi is crazy good.
Very hood. Terrible neighborhood.

BUt great BBQ

Pappys in St Louis or Arthur Bryant's just for the burnt ends.

Now that I'm in SC I need to go to Rodney Scotts.

Will back up La BBQ. The chopped brisket was the only thing left by the time we got to the front of the line, but it was THAT good.

Best all around - Luling City Market
Best brisket - Pecan Lodge

I haven't braved the line at Franklins though.

They are about to open a 30,000sq feet new Hard 8 off 121 next to the new Nebraska Furniture Mart in lewisville.

It's damn good. Anytime someone from my company flys in from out of town, it's always there number 1 request

10 years ago it was Kreuz in Lockhart.

But times have changed and while the famed halls off BBQ like Kreuz and Smitty's and City Market in Luling are good, they just aren't the best in the state anymore.

Franklin, La BBQ, Killen's, Pecan Lodge....all are probably putting out better BBQ than the old school joints.

I still enjoy a jalapeño link from Kreuz, but I'd rather enjoy a beef rib smoked by Ronnie Killen nowadays.
