I've had mine for three years now. A couple times I needed parts and they sent at no charge. 3 year warranty. I've smoked just about everything including steaks. Chickens are amazing. Probably get another one when this one dies. Costco gives you a bunch of extras. They usually have a rep come in with a bunch of different grills every month or so.

So these pellets produce as much smoke/flavor as charcoal/wood?

I love my pellet grill but don't have the Traeger, I went with the Yoder and love it.

I would suggest that you get something with a direct grilling option unless you are going to keep two grills.

Got one just recently and I love it. It's the Jim Bowie model.

It doesn't produce quite as much smoke as my offset stick burner so to compensate I smoke the meat @ 200 deg for about 45 minutes first then crank the temp to 225 to finish. The sweet part is that I can precisely control the temp within 5 deg's.

I have a Traeger for going on eleven years and love it. I got mine before the company was sold and began being made outside of the U.S. and were being made with heavy material. Not a knock on Traeger but explore all options before buying. A good number of great pellet cookers made in the U.S. these days. Yoder is tops in my opinion.

I've found that it's best to add one of these type tubes in the main chamber to add extra smoke. Personally, I have one of the 12 inch versions and I get around 3-4 hours before having to refill.

These guys have my favorite smoking/grilling/whatever cooking channel on YouTube right now and are a dealer of the Yoder Smokers (presumably because they're in their backyard), and they look like Traegers built to commercial specs...has that been your experience? I've got a DCS gas grill and a WSM but my next outdoor purchase will probably be a pellet smoker/grill.

My FIL has one. It is great. The only knock I've been able to find is that it is 100% indirect heat.

yeah they are great,I subscribed to their channel and gets lots of tips and ideas even if I do things a bit differently.

I love the Yoder, it is built like a tank and is not an apples to apples comparison with the Traeger or GMG, the older Traegers were fine grills but since they moved production to China quality has gone down a bit. They just don't use the same materials.

If you go with the Yoder I absolutely recommend the direct grilling plate, makes cleanup a lot easier and you will throw your other grills away.

Pellet tube for initial additional smoke can be helpful as someone else suggested

Traeger is the original. Much better quality options out there now...Yoder, Louisiana, Memphis, Rec Tec, among others.

honestly Louisiana does not belong in the conversation with the others you listed, they are Chinese as well.

Yoder, Memphis, Rec Tec, are the best options but also the most expensive of the major brands.

Cooked a beef tenderloin smoked with Pecan wood last weekend and the Traeger was awesome and the meat was great.

I have a Master Built electric smoker and a Weber Smokey Mountain and the Traeger was much easier.

But not sure it's worth the price.
