Let's face it, I prefer a good local joint to a chain any day of the week, however I'm in sales and have to take clients to lunches all over the area so sometimes I have no other choice.

I know everyone hates chains and will never be caught dead in them, but I'm not above them and think the following constantly produce a good product.

Jason's Deli
Corner Bakery
Panera Bread
Zoeys
PF Changs
Macaroni Grill
Freebirds
Pappadeaux/Pappacitos

Going out of the way to be above chains seems a pain in the arse. There may be better places but it doesn't mean you can't get a decent meal.

Exactly how I feel. I don't mind them at all

Even Chilis serves a purpose. And Buffalo Wild Wings

I'm biased because I work for one but there's just a bit of reality to chains. You deal with higher volume you have to deal with more costs and diminishing quality.

I actually think there are more good chains than bad ones. I have had a burger at The Cheesecake Factory that I'll put up against just about any other.
Places like Bonefish, Carrabbas, even BJ's (maybe not the BR location) are consistently good with their food and service.

Zoe's and Panera have always been consistent when I've been. And Bonefish is pretty good for a chain.

I've had good meals of course at Ruth's, Zea's, Houstons, and suprisingly Bravos.

Not sure if my taste or lack of patience of BS with the staff and clientel has change, but Outback has had the biggest decline that I can tell in the last five years. My daughter wanted to go there last week and the whole experience just annoyed the hell out of me.
Several years ago I used to think of it as pretty good.
