My brother is coming to Houston this weekend and is picking up two sacks of Crawfish on his way in. What would he be expecting to pay? He is going to Acadia Crawfish in Crowley. and when he called earlier in the week they quoted $2.25 for XL. He wanted bigger crawfish and I know most places don't size or only sell sized crawfish for sale outside of Louisiana.

Most places will sell you "selects." Lacrawfish.com listed price is 2.79+shipping.

for Christ's sake, pick up the phone and call around. Prices will vary from shop to shop.

Last night I was throwing out the past weeks grocery sale papers and noticed a place (not HEB) had them for $ 1.77 a pound. He may be able to get them cheaper in Houston.

They would be some well traveled crawfish. Caught in La brought to Houston where they are bought and carried back to La.

Randall's in Mecca advertising $1.75 a pound today. I'd expect Captain Avery's to be there, too, by the weekend.

Had a crawfish boil up here on Sunday. Randall's field run was at 1.99. Captain Avery's was at 2.25.

Captain Avery's will never get down to Randall's pricing. You know that everything at Avery's is extremely over priced, right?

It really isn't, unless you had someone calling around today for current prices. Otherwise, t's outdated info that isn't good for making a current decision.

Where are people getting these sub $2 prices in BR? I just called a few places and cheapest I've seen is $2.29.
