I know the feeling. We typically do our shopping on Sunday, then on Wednesday there is always a staple missing. I am like, we just spent $200 and we don't have any foil? Her answer is, I guess not but we sure as hell have some nasty kashi granola bars that cost a fortune.

NY strips, roasted asparagus, gnocchi with a spicy tomato vodka cream sauce and a bottle of Raymond Meritage.

Truck nuts you say? Down here in the oil patch I can buy a dozen chocolate donuts sprinkled with truck nuts. Easy to find.

Nope, you Yankees get all the nice stuff. Just wait until 2018 when crude comes back.

For starters, I don't make a lot of sides typically. I'm as basic as it comes since it's just me and the dog. Usually just a salad or something with whatever but my dinner guest brought asparagus and potatoes with her. I've never done asparagus because I ain't fancy. I'll get it next time. I only care about the meat.

Take it easy on me!

Open to advice here... I did sea salt, pepper, garlic.... maybe lemon next time for some zest? (Cut the ends next time?)
