I am making a pot of smoked neckbones and rice. Cornbread too.

Pork neck bones. Normally used as season meat, but good flavor as is. Simmer them down, remove from the pot. Use the stock to boil the rice, and add the stripped from the bone meat back to the rice when done. Good stuff.

I'm currently in a meat coma from Hogs. However on the way home I stopped in at the FQ food fest for Gus' fried chicken out of Memphis. I'll probably eat again on Tuesday.

Pollo al Mattone (sort of), pan roasted mushrooms, glazed carrots. Wine: 98 Haut Brion - corked, 97 Mondavi Reserve - cooked, 89 Leoville Las Cases - ahhhhhhh. Sucks about the HB.

I wasn't "blown away", but definitely not disappointed. Would have eaten so much more if it wasn't for dinner reservations.

That was almost 20 years ago .. but it's all relative .. You seem to eat out 5 or so nights a week at nice places .. Pretty impressive right out of school .. Good for you!

I paid my way through college and had no car note out of college .. I thought I had a decent job when I got my undergrad .. But I ate out at a place like TJ Ribs maybe twice a month .. Maybe I did it wrong ..
