Went to Table Kitchen and Bar's opening last night

First off, I tried to take a bunch of pics but of course my phone camera wasn't working in typical iPhone fashion.
The first thing I noticed was how many people they had working. It seemed like they had a 2-1 customer to employee ratio which is never a bad thing. They bring you water in these cool jars and leave extra for you on the table.
To drink, I started off with a Pimm's cup. My friend got the Moscow Mule. I tried his and realized I fricked up and should have gotten the MM. That would be my next drink.
For an appetizer, we got the smoked redfish dip. It was delicious. If I were to nitpick, I would say it should taste a little less smoky and a little more redfish. The dip came with little garlic bread toasts to dip in it.
For an entree, I almost got the Honey Brined chicken but decided to try their burger instead. It was HUGE! Tasted like a steak patty. The fries were good, handcut, homemade fries. Very delicious burger. My friend got the short braised ribs. His dish was very small. I tried his dish including the hashed potatoes. The potatoes were the best potatoes I've ever had. The ribs just tasted like a normal pot roast.
For desert, we got the Mary Lee's Bread pudding. If bread pudding and Mary Lee's glazed donuts had a baby, this is what it would taste like. This thing is amazing and melts in your mouth.
Overall, very good experience. Our bus boy Alex was a beast and busted his arse the whole time to make sure we were taken care of. Appetizer, 2 drinks, and a burger cost me $50 so it was a little pricey. I love farm to table restaurants and this was no exception. Not quite on the level of Ye Olde in NOLA but a few tweaks in the pricing and this place could be right up there with them.

So they left extra water glasses on the table? No thanks, one is fine for me.
$50 seems about right to me, as you forgot to add the dessert.

Agree. Great review. Just pray to God that they keep their true vision for the place, and don't start half assing it like so many others have.

I took it to mean they left extra water on the table... Does it make any sense to leave extra glasses?

Well my friend paid for the dessert so that wasn't on my $50 tab.
By extra water, I meant they left a jug of water on the table. Sorry for the confusion.

This makes me happy, because I really enjoyed the burger at Portico.

ETA: That's pretty much standard procedure for opening a new restaurant. It ain't that the owners are mean or anything. You hire a big staff at first to handle to the big crowds, then as things die off staff is let go or they quit.

Nice review. Sounds interesting.
The big question is:
Do you call it Table, Kitchen and Bar, Table or TKB?

Hadn't seen the logo. Makes more sense to see that.

Anyone know how to make a reservation? I can't find their phone number anywhere. Seems like that is something they would include on their website.

Good. I'm looking forward to another review. Tell us about the restrooms.

We had a good meal there this evening. My wife and I and another couple arrived at about 6:15 and had cocktails at the bar. I had a Moscow Mule and it was excellent. They had a light Happy Hour crowd in the bar.
We moved to our table in the patio area about 6:30. The table shared the smoked redfish dip and the deviled eggs as apps. The smoked redfish dip was the favorite. It was really good. I also liked the deviled eggs, but others were turned off by the heavy horseradish in the mix.
My entree was the smoked pork shoulder, which came with sides of grits and cabbage. It was great. My wife got the burger and she said it was great. It was huge and she only ate half. The others got the fish of the day, which was redfish. They liked it but thought it was too seasoned and a bit salty. The seasoning overpowered the fish.
We also ordered an extra side of grits and a side of green beans. The green beans were a bit too spicy.
The table shared a dessert which was some sort of strawberry cobbler with ice cream on top. It was very good. We had brandy milk punch with dessert.
We had 2 bottles of wine and the bill was $195 before the tip. Not bad IMO for what we got.
The service was excellent. We'll be back.

Still can't click onto the menus for more details
Side note: Can't wait to try their brunch. Wonder if they'll do any cool drink specials
