Went to Jolie Pearl for lunch today...

Had went there last weekend for a small get-together after a funeral reception and was impressed. Sat down for a quick lunch jaunt and was again impressed.
Had the Turkey Brie & Bacon Sandwich. Was on small muffelletta bread and came out pressed, crispy and crunchy. With a little apple/fig sauce on the side it was very good. With a bottle of Barq's and a bag of Zapp's Creamy Onion Tater Chips, that brought my $8 sandwich to a total of 13 or 14 after my tip.
My thoughts:
Very, very good sandwich. Presentation, flavors and ingredients were really good. Definitely wasn't slapped together in the back or forgotten about in a Panini press. The Tater chips weren't in-house so nothing to say there. Same for the drink.
But for $8, the portion was honestly really, really small. I know that to an extent you're paying for the location, and they are an offshoot of Stroube's just a few steps down the street, but lopping off a $1 from that price would really put them where they need to be.
I tried their baked Oysters three different ways on Saturday and I thought they were all fantastic, by the way. Other than a lack of Newcastle I was impressed with their beer selection. A friend with us had a dozen raw oysters and reported excellent results there as well.
Something else that surprised me was the really light lunchtime crowd. There's not a ton of choices outside of the oysters but for the location, I'm surprised they didn't have more business at Noon on a Wednesday downtown. There was one other table and a couple at the bar while I was there.
All in all, there's not much to complain about. They do what they do very well, and its a dynamite location and I love the décor with reclaimed wood, exposed resealed concrete and chalk-walls.
But with the idea that anyone who has to drive-which I did-to get them that's outside of that downtown area and paying to park coupled with the portions being what they are, they may be just a tad-and I really do mean tad-over the price point sweet spot for what they're doing.
All in all, I will definitely be back.

I wanted to go a couple weekends back. This was a problem, b/c some in the group didn't like oysters. I was hoping to find more options.

I went the other day with my girlfriend. We got 3 baked and chargrilled (all 4 count), and a half dozen raw. Everything was delicious. Other that still being hungry when we left, I have no complaints. I really like the set up too.

I like the place also but it is a niche place in downtown BR. I just never think to go to the place when im thinking of food. Usually if I want oysters, Chimes is the place I go.
Kinda confused with this. Is there a reason they should have this beer?

Same.
Granted, I made the mistake of ordering raw oysters from elsewhere that were like $2.50/piece, which is why my bill was so insane and I was still hungry..
If I ever go back, it would be on the night they do cheap chargrilled and just get a lot of those. Because the taste was definitely awesome.
I'd like to see them consider changing bread. When I went, it was a small slice of bread for your entire plate of oysters, and it was toasted so hard that it was like a crouton so there was no sopping up the juices. My favorite part of chargrilled oysters is sopping up the deliciousness. I can easily make them a meal when this is the case. Maybe that is their plan.. don't give you much bread so you don't get full and you order more

It is my go to beer to pair with almost any food. They should know to carry it for me. Hint Hint-That was evidently a terrible job of sarcasm in my OP.

I'm a Jolie Pearl fan. I usually just get raw oysters and they've always been great. I think their oysters rockefeller was pretty tasty as well.
