Yea these are solid dinner options. Dmenica for lunch. Would add Casamento's for lunch. Atchafalaya brunch (Reserve in advance). Elizabeth's brunch as alternative.

Monteleone is pretty historic, is in a prime location, and has the Carousel Bar downstairs. That said, it's really not that nice of a hotel. Not sure how nice Le Pavillon is in comparison.

I'd probably go with Monteleone but don't confuse it with the Ritz when it comes to luxury.

In what way?

As far as your room itself? Nope.

I've had too many postage stamp rooms at Monteleone. Room @ Le Pav was huge and so nice. The rooms are gorgeous, the lobby is gorgeous, the bar is gorgeous, and the rooftop pool is a blast (not that it is probably even open yet).

As far as location? Depends on what you want to do. Neither is really "far" from anything though.

IMO it's all location. Depends on what they plan on doing. It's New Orleans, you're not spending a bunch of time in the hotel room.

Meh. I've never felt like Le Pav was far from anything.

Of course, I don't go and stay in one area, generally. Last time, I stayed at the Wyndham off Royal in the Quarter and went all over. Quarter, CBD, and eventually F&Ms. Cabs aren't expensive and walking from CBD to Quarter is nothing IMO.

(The time we met with you at NOLA)

I'm not saying it isn't walkable but say Frenchman to LP is a hike at 3 am. Plus that walk can get sketchy. Being in the FQ makes things so much easier to walk to all the downtown attractions. That is if the OP is planing on staying in that part of town. If they get out and cab many places than LP is fine.

Stay at Windsor Court, the warehouse district is where you want to be. Personally I hate the quarter

Windsor Court is my favorite unless you want to be in the Quarter.

How long will you be there?

For a first time visitor, I'd include one of the Grand Dame restaurants for one meal. Commander's or Galatoire's. The latter is more traditional old New Orleans food. I like both. Commander's would be good for any meal. Great for Sat or Sun brunch. Lunch or dinner at Galatoire's.
You could take the streetcar to Commander's.

Casamento's isn't open in June.

I agree with GG on Windsor since it sounds like you will be spending some time in Harrahs.
