Waitr question...

Are you supposed to tip the delivery person more, even after you tip on the app? Thanks, boys.

You can but the tip is there for the driver so you don't have to have cash on hand.

Gotcha. Tipped 25% the other day and still the driver kind of gave me a "you going to tip me?" look, then walked back to her car.

no... I really wish you could adjust the tip based on performance though. Last time I ordered from waitr the original driver apparently decided to quit for the night, and they had to find me a new one. Took over 2 hours for my food to be delivered. I sent a complaint in and they refunded me $5, but never answered if my tip went to the original driver or the one who picked up the slack. Either way I think having to tip before they do their job is dumb.

Jesus. I typically tip 15% for a delivery. Waitr is a cool app and I use it often, but they pretty much hit you with $12 in fees before you even tip.

I've used Waitr probably a dozen times and every time has been them handing me my food with a smile and that's it.

IIRC correctly, the drivers do not see how much they were tipped until the end of the shift. In my mind it prevents the drivers from saying "oh they didnt tip shite" and messing with your food.
ETA: Waitr is only worth it to me if you are ordering quite a bit of food ($30+) or are doing a group order. Nothing like ordering an $10 item then charged $5 delivery then the tip. I get its a convenience thing but i cant pull myself to use it much

I only tip on the app. You're welcome, girl.

It's a $5 fee and half goes to the driver and the other half goes to Waitr. I typically just tip another $5 on the app. Also as the poster said above, if you tip on the app the drivers don't know what the tip is. They also never find out either. Just get a lump sum at the end of the night.

Yeah, it was my first time using it and didn't know what I was doing. 25% won't happen again.
