I'm about to purchase a vitamix 7500 refurbished. Look at reviews and tests online and there's no doubt the vitamix is the way to go.

No experience with blendtec, but I love my Vita-Prep 3 (Vitamix). All of my industry friends use Vitamix also.

Vitamix is the only one I've used. It is also the only one I'll ever use. I love it.

What industry are your friends in? Personally have seen every Jamba Juice has 2 Vitamix blenders and 2 Blentec blenders. Maybe each blender has its own advantages.

Food service, but specifically meant restaurants and not smoothie places. My chef friends all use Vitamix blenders.
