Hanging with a group of girls. So I'll be eating whatever the hostess cooks. Great way to spend v-day other than being with my SO.

pot roast over mashed potatoes

I know it's not sexy or romantic, but it is what my pregnant wife wants, so I'm not going to argue

Cooking for the fiancée.

Assorted cheeses, cured meats and olives from Whole Foods and Wright Bros. bacon wrapped grilled green onions. Howling Moon pinot noir.

Prime 28-day dry aged strips, angel hair with a vodka tomato cream sauce, potatoes au gratin topped with chopped cracklin. Mollydooker Blue Eyed Boy.

Chantilly cake from Whole Foods.

Went to Chops last weekend for her actual vday present.

Tonight I am just going to cook something a little bit out of the ordinary. I am thinking an app, chicken dish, desert and some wine from whole foods. Nothing incredible but I typically don't go above and beyond for a random dinner.

Be very careful there. I picked up a bottle of Mollydooker yesterday at Cuban for $36. Same varietal and vintage was $60 at Whole Foods.

Thanks for the heads up.

I'll try a liquor store or kroger for the wine.

Crawfish cakes. I modified a crab cake recipe to use fresh crawfish tails - they are awesome. Maybe make a hollandaise sauce to go with it. Mmmmm.

Picking up 2 marinated ribeyes, 2 stuffed potatoes, and a bottle of wine from Earl's Grocery in Lafayette. I'll be cooking my steak medium rare. Mrs. Ragincajun03 will have hers well-done.

I'm cooking.

Spinach salad with warm crispy pancetta dressing topped with blue cheese, campari tomatoes and pecans.
Mustard crusted rack of lamb with a fig chutney, served with garlic rosemary mashed potatoes and sauteed mushrooms.
Warm molten chocolate cake

Ouch! Which one did you get? I love Mollydooker Two Left Feet! My favorite bottle of wine around the $25 price point.

Big time. I mean, that's almost restaurant pricing. Blue Eyed Boy. I need to try more of their stuff.

Your meal sounds insanely good as well. Bacon wrapped green onions made my stomach growl.

Have a beautiful evening.

Wife and kids are out of town, so I haven't decided yet. I am leaning to picking up boiled crabs.
