This was it on Friday.

I'm trying to create a variety of beers to attract mavens, and have some gateway beers on tap as well.

I'd like to stay away from selections that you can get in other packages.

To those of you Mavens with MS ties, any advice would be appreciated. What would you like to see on tap here.

BTW, as discussed in today's FBD thread, this is not my store.

Andygator is the biggest seller out of that?

Yes, Yes it is. It's as much a marketing problem as a selection problem.

Have seem much worse selections. I was expecting BMC and abita amber.

Testify is pretty good, however on tap I don't know how many 20oz pours I could handle.

I would rotate a lot and through social media make sure customers knew what was on tap and on deck. Talk with the brewers to get one off stuff.

The social media aspect is out of my control as of yet. I don't work for the distributors, yet the manager of the store has asked me to help him.

I think that we could put in a range of relatively local keg only brews from IPA'S to blondes. Mix in seasonals such as the SoPro Cicada series, and Yalobusha Zoo Brew, and still have a few taps to pay the bills until they get the twitter handle doing its job.

You should work together with some of the better beer restaurants to get word out. Fondren public, pig and pint, babalu, underground 119, Hal & Mals etc. the Jackson maven community is very close. S14 knows. Raise your pints would be another good place to seek help

Christ, that's just awful. With MS distro you can get...

Blue Pants
Crooked Letter
Fort Collins
Goose Island
Green Flash
Lagunitas
Lazy Magnolia
New Holland
North Coast
Southern Prohibition
Tallgrass
Yazoo

Any would be an improvement over what they have.

Fantastic list. Hell, he has NOLA Hurricane Saison in the store and took it down because the he was quoted the wrong cost. I hope he put it back up today.

Would you really leave Lucky Town out? Pub Ale is a gateway beer and i kind of like The Flare Incident.

wilts, that's a really great list too, but some of those such as Lagunitas and Blue Pants are not in the local Jackson market yet.

LINK

Instead of blindly using seekabrew when i know nothing of the mississippi beer scene, like wiltznucs, i will provide you a list of beers on tap at the bulldog. The bulldog is likely to have a top selection of draft

So far, this is what we're thinking:

Crooked Letter Heffy
Crooked Letter Mariposa
Lucky Town Pub Ale
Lazy Magnolia Timber Beast or Southern Hops'pitality
Lazy Magnolia Lazy Saison or Backwoods Belgian
Lazy Magnolia Song of the South
Oxford Brewing Co. Sorority Blonde
SoPro Jack the Sipper
SoPro Ragana Baltic Porter
Yalobusha Copperhead

Then we will explore regional options from LA, AL, etc. to round out the 12.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a standard

Fat Tire is a solid entry beer that i think is good to have on a menu if you are looking at building a clientele

I saw that, but steered away because GI kegs are pricey and he is considering a local saison

Sophie is way better than the lazy saison.

We know that Craig will push them, and would love to have it set for MS Craft Beer Week, but I got the text last night. Because I'm a craft enthusiast, they ask me for help because their distributors don't have a clue when it comes to craft beer.

I agree, but how much will he be able to move at $7-$8 per snifter? I dont know if Jackson market will move that product so quickly.

this is also a growler station...not pints/snifters per serving.
