I've been in the market for an inexpensive charcoal smoker/grill and came across several of these DIY projects. They seem somewhat labor intensive depending on their complexity, but I'm more concerned with wasting time/energy to build one if there's a comparable setup I can buy ready to go.

Anyone have experiences with a build?
What setup did you go with and how much did it end up costing?
Was it worth it?

TIA

I've always wanted to make one. I hear they're great to use. Look up the double ones. Those things look awesome

Absolutely love the Pit Barrel Cooker. Bought after leaving my last smoker in a move. Best money I have spent on outdoor cooking.
